Right-click Menu
A convenient right-click menu provides quick & easy access to commands useful for managing list items: Add, Remove Selected, or Remove All items from the list or Open Item Location to view all files in a folder to be shredded.
AceErase is Easy to Use
Select the file shredding algorithm.
Select a shredding algorithm from the Algorithm drop-down list. This is the algorithm that will be used to shred all items in the list. Set other file shredding options as needed, such as: shred filenames, shred folder names, shred folder content recursively, clear the swap file after shutdown, and select the log level desired. Options will be remembered next time you start AceErase and will be used in subsequent shredding operations unless you change them again.
Select the files to shred.
Use AceErase's simple drag-and-drop feature to drag and drop files or folders unto the list to be shredded, or use the Add button to browse for files and folders on your computer instead. If you have the Professional version, you can also select Shred Your Tracks items, such as internet history, internet temporary files, cookies, and locked index.dat files, or your computer's recently opened documents list, start/run history, local temporary files, recycle bin contents, or unused free space on your hard drives or USB flash drives.
Start shredding!
Once you have selected your shredding algorithm and other shredding options, and selected any Shred Your Tracks items (Pro only) and added any other files or folders to the AceErase list, just click Start Shredding! to begin shredding those items. You will see the progress and status of each item in the list as well as the total progress of all items as a whole. You can cancel shredding by clicking the Cancel button at any time, but please use caution... although AceErase has safeguards to prevent accidental eraser of important system files, any item already shredded (or partially shredded) will be permanently unrecoverable. The shred process can not be reversed.

Can AceErase run from my USB flash drive?
Yes! AceErase is compact enough that it can run standalone from a USB flash drive (pen drive, thumb drive). After installing it on your system just copy the AceErase.exe file (found under your Programs folder) to your flash drive.
When you copy only the executable, you will not be able to access context sensitive help or main help. If you would like to be able to access the help files, just copy over the AceEraseHelp.chm file too (also found under the Programs folder) to the same location where you copied the executable (AceErase.exe) file.
Now you can run AceErase from any computer with a USB port without having to install it!
Does AceErase shred file tips (cluster tips, file slack)?
Yes, both the free trial and pro versions of AceErase automatically shred the cluster tips of any file shredded.
