How to Add the My Computer Icon to Your Desktop in Windows 7

Windows 7 by default does not display the “My Computer” icon on your desktop. In order to display the icon on your desktop follow these steps:

• Click the START button on the bottom left hand corner of the Windows 7 toolbar
• Right-click the Computer button on the right hand side of the Start Menu
• Click on Show on Desktop option on the Right-click menu.

That’s it! You will now have a My Computer icon on your desktop. Note that by default it’s just called “Computer”. You can rename it by Right-Clicking on the icon and selecting “Rename”.
